Hi Brownthumbs.

Thank you for your question. The Hardiness zone for Wisteria is 5,6,7,8,9.  Your zip code shows that you are in zone 10a.

It may still be possible to grow your Wisteria plant in zone 10a, but you may have to take some extra care of it during the hot and colder months.  Since you are about half the way into zone 10a, you can still  grow your Wisteria successfully, but it will take a bit more TLC from you for your plant.

The  best spot to grow wisteria would be in the ground so that its root system can expand and bring in the needed nutriants for the plant to peform at its best.

Please let us know how your plant progresses and send in some pictures well.
