Hi nikki8233,

Weight bearing structures are often framed with two X six or two X eight lumber ... depending upon the span and the load.

In your case, imagine building a framed box that can then be "finished" with luan, hinges, and doors.

Storage can be as simple as stackable containers or as complex as slide-out shelving.

I would consider matching the finish on the buffet to create a more finished appearance.

Ask your local Building Materials Associate for assistance selecting lumber for your frame and luan for the outer skin.

You Hardware Associate can show you hinges and your Kitchen and Bath Associate can help with doors.

Once done, come back and share photos of your handiwork.

Hope this helps,

Pat InPaint
