ceiling fan wattage regulator

how can I wire this around the ceiling fan wattage regulator? its went bad. thanks for any help.. http://postimg.org/image/p2miftjwt/

Thanks for your question and welcome to the community.


And thank you also for sending us the link to your fan wattage regulator, that helps us immensely.


However, without seeing where the regulator goes in relationship to the fan, I can't say with any certainty to bypass it.


Older fans had these in them so folks wouldn't put too high rated (60 watts or over) bulbs in them, creating a fire hazard.


My recommendation would be to see who the manufacturer is of the fan if possible. Then you can see if and how the bypass can be done. This is especially important if the fan has a remote control with it.l



At minimum, you can test and trace the wires to see where they are going, and see if a bypass can work out for you. However, I'd first recommend to contact the manufacturer to ensure it can be done safely and without damaging the fan.
