cement anchor question

I'm using Red Head split anchors (1/4” x 2-1/2”) to secure the baseplate to the cement floor of a basement. What’s the recommended spacing between the anchors?

Your just building a partition wall in a basement?  Every couple of feet is plenty but put one near (6" or so)  the end of each section of wall.   You can also add a nice bead of construction adhesive if you want to be "belt and suspenders."

Remember you should be using a pressure treated lumber for the baseplate.

Excellent anchors rayv!

The manufacturer demonstrates installation as close as four inches apart for metal bases and as close as sixteen inches apart to hold framing boards when constructing a wall.

The other important consideration is how much you tighten the anchor.

Wedge anchors fasten into solid concrete and should be tightened by turning the nut 3-5 times.

Sleeve anchors fasten into concrete block and brick and should be tightened by turning the nut 2-3 times.

How To:
After piloting the hole, make certain to remove debris from the hole before positioning the anchor.
