Hey bxodyssey,

Thanks for your question and welcome to the community.

Unless the pre-mixed grout is epoxy-based (it will say it if it is on the container), then you WILL need to apply sealer once the grout is dried and excessive amounts have been cleaned.

Epoxy-based grout has built in sealers in it, but other pre-mixed versions don't.

And failure to apply sealer, even for something like a wall that won't get a lot of contact still needs it in case water/moisture comes in contact with it. For the floors, it's really the only option to ensure your tile installation is protected for years to come.

Sealers come in high sheen or no finish at all, so you can pick the one that's right for your tile installation.

Let us know if you have any further questions,

Hello bxodyssey and welcome to the Community.

I would like to direct you to another post that Joseph made not long ago about a new pre-mixed grout called Fusion Pro.

It's an all-in-one, ready-to-use formula that works right out of the bucket. It's main secret is that it's acrylic base formula has silicone resin in it, allowing for a durable finish that NEVER needs to be sealed!

Thanks for your inquiry.
