drip irrigation

How deep should I bury 1/4" plastic drip irrigation hose? I live in southwestern Arizona where the winters are mild.
Than you.

Hi vitamin.

Thank you for your question.

The 1/4” drip you are planning to install is coming of a 1/2 inch supply line, yes?  The smaller line is not meant to run more than a foot or two from its supply source.  Other than protecting the drip line from the damaging rays of the sun, you do not need to bury it.

Since the summers in Arizona can be rather brutal, I like your idea of burying the drip lines.  You could bury the drip line just below the surface, enough to protect the plastic line from the harmful rays of the sun. I think that 1/2 inch of soil over the drip line should be sufficient.   The end of the drip line where you have your emitters should be above the ground though.
