dumb cane dieffenbachia camille

I purchased it around June 2015 and placed it southern facing window but indirectly,watered as directed but all the leaves turned brown and died.I still have it,with the thick stems only,cut the tips off to enhance growth but to no avail.Please help me to revive this plant.Much appreciated.

Southern exposure for a Dumb Cane is never a good idea. That area is generally too hot.  The Dieffenbachia is a tropical plant and does well in a bright indirectly lighted area.  DO NOT put in direct sunlight. This plant likes to be damp but not wet.  Humidity is ok in a warmer room but not dry heat. 


Always remember that you will need to water the plant when it needs to be watered.  Do not just water because it says to water.  Each area has its own micro-climate.  Water the plant as needed. 


Move the plant to an area that is brightly lighted but does not receive any direct sunlight.  The plant should recover.
