finnishing cement floors

i am finishing cement floors and after sanding them i accidentally stained them and then put primer on (thinking it was sealant.  can i re-apply stain over the primer?

Thanks for your question and welcome to the community.


Stain has to soak into a substrate (in this case, cement) for it to perform. You'll need to remove the primer first so that the stain can do it's job properly.

Mistake are hard to accept especially after you have put so much effort and determination  into the prep work…uggg! You can paint over stain but you cannot stain over paint, here is a guide for a paint as an alternative for the concrete floor, there is always a solution.
