garage door opener question

I've lost the hand held remote for my garage door opener, but I didn install it to my car. Is it possible to transfer the signal back to a hand held remote from the car, so my girlfriend can use a hand held device?

Hello Poch, welcome to the community!

I work for The Home Depot in the Door & Window department. You cannot transfer a signal from the car to the remote, but you can purchase a new remote, and sync or pair up the new remote with the motor unit in your garage. .

What you can do to get a new remote is check the list below, and if your manufacture it's one of the brands in the list then this remote will work for you.

  • Genie®

  • Chamberlain®
  • LiftMaster®
  • 300/310/315/372/390 MHz compatible

We look forward to seeing you in the store.

Thanks, Tangelo
