hampton bay ext light upc 6940500313238

Upon opening the box after I purchased this light - I broke the glass shade. I contacted the customer service number listed in the instructions and I was informed that the shade is not available to be purchased by itself. Any ideas where I can purchase the shade. I have tried numerous places already. Never even got a chance to hang the fixture. I purchased it on Sunday 8/23/15. Apparently the shade is unique to this style fixture.

If Hampton Bay won't sell you just the glass you have a few options:

  • Spend the $30 and buy a new fixture.
  • Go into the store, tell them what happened, and hope that someone feels sorry for you.
  • Hope that one of the Home Depot employees here forwards you message to customer service and they feel sorry for you.
  • Lie. Take the fixture back and tell them it was broken when you opened the box.

I did the same thing a few years back.  I just bought a new fixture (the cheapest one I could find that had the same size glass).  the unused "base" is still in a box in the garage.
