hanging medium sized mirror

I have a medium sized mirror with D-rings on the back for hanging, but they are spaced 34 in apart, so I can only place one of the rings over a stud. Any ideas on how to properly secure the other one?

Hi Murtaza,

There are many methods of hanging framed mirrors and pictures. The D hooks that are already installed on your mirror can hook directly to a wall anchor, or they can support a cable that runs between them.

7-Piece Perfect Picture Hanging Kit  14-Piece Heavy Object Picture Hanging Kit  34-Piece Professional Picture Hanging Valu-Pak

Using the cable will allow you to utilize one or more wall anchors to support the mirror. These anchors are designed for use on hollow walls and can support heavy weight.

Another method is to add a hollow wall anchor to the D ring area. This requires you to align with the ring that does not line up to a stud. This method will make level adjustments more difficult. Precise measurement is required.

Thank you for asking, and welcome to the community!!
