how can I repair knockdown textured drywall

I have removed an interior closet to enlarge a bedroom.  The drywall behind the walls and ceiling were not textured.  Is there a way to copy the knockdown texture on the walls in the area the stud was removed?

Yes...And no:smileyindifferent:

The texture is easy to replicate, but the problem is in the transition from the existing texture to the new.  You will most likely see that line no matter how hard you try to make it seamless.  Less rather more is how you reduce this effect.

To apply the texture - use a good quality spray gun with a hopper and a compressor.

I have found that a mixture of drywall compound and water mixed to a "pancake batter" consistency will result in a smoother knockdown appearance.  After spraying on the texture - wait about 10 - 15 minutes and then drag the knockdown knife over the surface in one consistent motion.

Once the texture has completely dried - prime and paint to match the existing room.
