how do I fix the wood around my front door lock?

Hi Shadow,

 

If the wood is still in place but cracked or splintered, you can place wood glue in the gap and nail or clamp the wood back into place.

 

If the wood is too badley damaged to repair, you can purchase a section of door jamb at your local Home Depot.

 

Cut out the bad section, then cut a piece of the new jamb to take its place.

 

Glue and nail the new section into place, sand and repaint as needed.

 

If the damage is on the door itself, you may be able to repair it with glue or cut out the

damaged section and replace it.

 

If the damage is too severe you may have to replace the door.
