Hello stiles2i!

Every manufacturer has tested the rate at which their water heaters will fill and heat a tank full of water.

And, the rate is different for most water heaters.

Locate the model and serial number on the tank label and contact your manufacturer.

Be prepared to discuss the thermostat setting ... usually located on the side of the tank near the pilot light cover.

CAUTION:

The common setting (anti-scald) is usually a mid-point temperature designed to prevent young children from exposure to very hot water.

Raising the thermostat setting above the anti-scald temperature may not significantly reduce the re-heat time, but will certainly increase the temperature of stored water and subsequently the risk associated with exposure to scalding water.

FINALLY:

A water heater insulation blanket will certainly improve energy efficiency.
