Hi gjohnsen,

Thank you for your question and welcome to our community.

To calculate how many 16X16 pavers you will need to cover your 22ft X 7ft area, you will need to first calculate the square footage of the 16X16 paver which is 256 sq inches.  Now you want to calculate how many sq ft are in a 16X16 paver.

Remember that you will need to divide inches by inches & sq inches by sq inches.  1 sq foot is 144 sq inches.  256 divided by 144 equals 1.7777777777777777.  This means that each 16X16 paver is 1.7777777777 sq feet.

Next you will need to calculate the sq footage of your patio.  22ft X 7ft=154sq ft.

154 sq ft divided by 1.777777777777=86.625 pavers.  This means you will probably have to cut some of the pavers to fit into your patio area.

Do not forget that you will also need a 2 inch course pack base followed by a 1 inch base of finishing sand also packed down before you lay your pavers.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.
