The most important thing to remember about this product is that you need to apply a generous amount - so that it remains wet while adding a design element to the surface.  This will give you ample amount of time to work with it.

Here are the instructions:

WALLS: Tape off all surfaces that are not going to be painted using painter’s tape for freshly painted surfaces. This product requires two coats to achieve proper finish.

FIRST COAT - Apply the first coat of Martha Stewart Living Lightstrokes using a premium quality 9” roller with a 3/8” nap and 2.5” to 3”
brush for the hard-to-reach areas. The first coat will appear non-uniform. Allow to dry overnight.

SECOND COAT - Apply the second coat of Martha Stewart Living Lightstrokes using a premium quality 9” roller with a 3/8” nap and 2.5”
to 3” brush for the hard to reach areas in 18” strips from ceiling to floor. In order to apply the proper amount of Martha Stewart Living Lightstrokes, the roller must be reloaded four times for each 18” column. Use a brush for hard-to-reach areas.

Immediately after each column has been applied by roller, create technique using the small round texture brush starting in the upper left hand corner of each column. Place and twist the small round texture brush in a random overlapping pattern moving horizontally or vertically from ceiling to floor until the entire column is covered.

Begin the second column with roller overlapping the previous column approximately 2”. Again, after area is covered with 9” roller, place and twist the small round texture brush in a similar random overlapping pattern until the entire column is covered blending into existing pattern. Continue with pattern until entire wall is covered.

Tip: Always twist the small round texture brush in the same clockwise or counter clock-clockwise direction and be sure that the overlap of each circle covers the first coat entirely.

Remove tape after area has dried at least four hours. Run a utility knife along the edge where the tape and paint meet to avoid pulling off any dried paint.

See the Martha Stewart Living Specialty Finishes brochure for additional application methods.

COVERAGE: One gallon of Martha Stewart Living Lightstrokes covers approximately 200-300 sq. ft. of a smooth, non-porous wall with two coats. Coverage may vary depending on the method of application used.

DRY TIME: At 77°F (25°C) and 50% R.H., product dries to touch in four hours. Allow first coat to dry 24 hours before applying second coat. Low temperature, high humidity, thick films or poor ventilation will increase these times.

CLEAN UP & CARE: Clean hands and tools with warm, soapy water. Wipe up spills with a damp cloth. Painted surfaces may be washed after 30 days with a mild household cleaner and sponge. Avoid harsh, abrasive cleaners.
