Hi necneax,

Thank you for your question.

You first step will be sweep or vacuum up any excess debris.  Chewing gum can best be removed by freezing it and then chiseling it off.

In many situations, you should be able to use one of many light stream cleaners to freshen up your clay pavers if they are located inside your house.

If they are out on the patio, you may be able to use a light pressure washer to remove stains such as cooking grease or other debris.

Once you have cleaned your clay tile it will be necessary to reseal the clay tile.  You might want to consider water proofing your outside tile to keep it dry during the rainy season. By keeping the tile sealed, it will also resist stains.

It is a simple process, although it can be labor intensive at times, depending on the depth of the cleaning needed.  In some instances, you may have to resort to the old fashion method of hands and knees scrubbing.  Do not use a metal brush on your clay tile or you will damage your clay tile.  A nylon scrub brush and baking soda may be your best resource.

Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.
