how to install adhesive backed wood flooring over tile

I have grouted tile floor and I want to install a adhesive backed wood floor over the tiles. Do I need to put anything down on the tilles first.

Thanks for your question and welcome to the community!

 

I'm not aware of any self-adhesive wood flooring that we carry, but I would say first to at least read the manufacturer's instructions or visit their website before beginning your install.

 

Most floors, especially resilient vinyl systems, will require you to level out the grout lines first. However, if the wood is thick enough (should be), you should not encounter 'telegraphing' or the grout lines coming through, since the wood is solid material.

 

But again, consult the manufacturer's instructions first to make sure that these can effectively go over your existing floor.

 

Better yet, do you have a name or part number we can look up? If you give that information, we can see what kind of install we are up against.
