how to keep twin metal frame matress from saging wwhat type of slats do i need or should i put wood

Hi Vincent,

 

Thank you for your question and welcome to our community. 

 

The best way to prevent your mattress from sagging will be to insert several 1X4X8 Super Strips every 10-12 inches, depending on the weight that will need to be supported.  Cut the planks to length so they will fit from side to side on the frame, underneath mattress.  Lay the planks on the frame and then place the mattress on top of the planks.  This should prevent the mattress from sagging. 

 

You could also use a box spring under the mattress.  The stiff wooden frame would also prevent the mattress from sagging as well.
