Welcome to our community Eliana!

Thank you for your question! Are you hoping to achieve a specific look on your table, or are you just wanting to change the color? If you are looking to do a specific look, please let us know and we will assist you with that. I will give you general instructions for painting a wooden table.

First you will want to lightly sand the table before you do anything else. Using 150-180 grit sandpaper will be best.

After you have lightly sanded the surface, you should prime the surface. Technically you can use either a latex (water) based or oil based primer, but for furniture, people tend to use oil based. Using oil based primer will seal the wood and the previous layer of paint or stain.

After you prime, you can either use a brush on or spray paint. Spray paint will be oil based and the brush on can be oil or latex based.

If you have any more questions, please let us know!
