painting over paneling?

I started painting over the newly installed paneling in my bathroom. Doesn't work! Is the Kilz primer a good product for painting the paneling so that the paint will cover?

Please don't get frustrated - painting should be fun and not a hair pulling situation.:smileyfrustrated:

Most newly painted surfaces will require a base coat of primer before the final coat is applied. That primer coat can be either a traditional primer like the KILZ you referred to, or our BEHR ULTRA paint/primer product.

After the first coat of primer has thoroughly dried - lightly sand it to a smooth feel and then apply your final coat of paint.

Huh? That's wierd. I just painted my living room paneling a few months ago and it worked. I did wash the walls first but my house is about 30 yrs old. Then we put a coat of Kilz on it, then sprayed on the paint with a paint gun. Did you use the right paint? My mother painted kitchen cabinets several years ago and picked the wrong stuff and it just peeled off in globs.
