reattach liminate countertop

I have a small section of countertop that has pulled up from the underlying plywood.  How can I reattach it?

Hi Maggi,

Laminate countertop can be repaired fairly easily, here are techniques to try.

For a loose laminate start by carefully pulling it up at the edge and scraping behind it with a putty knife to remove any debris.

Take a clothes iron, adjust it to the cotton setting (no steam) and hold it against the laminate for a few seconds to reactivate the contact cement. Then press the laminate back into place.

You may have to hold it in place for a few minutes to make sure it adheres.

If ironing doesn't work, pull back the loose edge and apply a thin layer of contact cement to the back of the laminate and to the counter. Allow the cement to dry for a few minutes, and then press the loose piece into place.

If this doesn’t work you may have to replace the entire section with a new piece of laminate.
