What type of blade should I buy for the job of building a wood deck? number of teeth? material? Thanks.
Hi Charles,
Thank you for your question and welcome to our community.
Pressure treated lumber as well as “Wet Lumber” will require a special saw blade due to the the “gumming effect” caused by the heat from the saw blade when the lumber is cut.
There are three main circular saw blades that you will want to use when you are doing numerous cuts are made by Bosch, DeWALT & HILTI. These special blades may only be available at our On Line Warehouse.
Check with your localHome Depot Hard Ware Department. You may be able to have this product shipped to your local store for free and then picked up in the store.
For just an occasional cut, you can use the Diablo Framing Saw Blade, but this should only be used for the occasional cut. For your deck project, take the time and get the Bosch, DeWALT or HILTI circular saw blades for wet or Pressure Treated lumber.
Using the right tool for the job just makes the whole project flow smoother and get finished that much faster and with better results!
Be sure to take pictures or a video of your project and share it with us on our Project Library under "I Did This".
Please let us know if you have any further questions.
