Hey mss36663,

Welcome to the community!

Before doing all installation, make sure that you are aware of how much travertine tile you will need as well as where it will be placed.

After knowing this, we have a simple installation mat for backsplashes that can cut the time down on installing your travertine tiles. In fact, its so simple, its call SimpleMat!

Click on the image of it below for more information.

It's extremely easy to place on a clean and level wall. It applies as a very heavy duty double sided sheet of adhesive, and eliminates the need for applying mastics or thin-set mortar for a tile adhesive (since SimpleMat will do it for you).

Before you install the tiles, make sure that you use a high-quality stone tile sealer on them first. Failure to do so can lead the grout to penetrate the tiles and permanently stain them.

Once the travertine tiles are applied on the wall as you wish, you are now ready for grouting the tiles. Apply the grout of yoru choice with a grout float and work in a small 3ft x 3ft. section. Wipe off any excessive amounts as soon as you see it.

Allow the grout to dry overnight and apply another coat of sealer, and you now have a beautiful travertine backsplash to enjoy for years to come!

Let us know if this has assisted you, and if you have any further questions...just ask.
