what is the best way to sharpen loppers

My method for sharpening garden tools is: 


Use WD-40, rubbing alcohol, or solvent to get any residue off blades.


At this point you can use a vise to make sharpening easier if you have one.


Use a fine metal file to sharpen cutting edge in long single stroke away from you.


Maintain the original angle of the cutting edge.


When your done and made adjustement to the bolt if needed, wipe down and apply light coat of 3-in 1 oil or silicone.
