want to drywall top half (48") of poured concrete basement wall. do i insulate before dry walling

building model railroad and want to use drywall on top half (48" height) of poured concrete basement walls as a scenery backdrop.  will use space beneath layout  for hidden storage.  do i need to insulate between studs befoe hanging drywall.

Hi Mhess,

 

Sounds like a cool project, I was a big model railroader in my youth, but that was a long time ago!

 

I would defiantly insulate to make the space more comfortable. Also consider water proofing the walls, you don't want a heavy winter storm to destroy your hard work.
