I have floor joist separating from the support beam. They have pulled out almost an inch and I need to bring them plum again. My idea is to use some lag bolts to tighten them up and hopefully pull them back in and the sister some partial 2x8's to give extra support. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Something sound awfully wrong because there shouldn't be a gap that large between the floor joists and beam. Any idea what is happening that would have caused this?

No idea...just moved in and noticed. Knew there was something up because the floor squeeks so went to the basement, which is unfinished, to investigate.
The lag bolt idea will not work so going to just sister a board to it....

Gravity should be holding the joists to the beam. There may be a few toe-nails but that's more or less to keep things from shifting as the floor is built. I would suggest you get a qualified professional to look things over. I suspect that the beam isn't being supported properly causing it to fall away from the floor joists.
If you do sister, uses nails or through bolt.
