I want to repaint a room that has Latex Enamel Satin on the walls with a Eggshell finish. I am planning on using Behr with the primer in it. Do I need to" remove" the finish that is on the wall to get better coverage?
Thanks

Welcome to our community psubob!
My name is Christine and I work in the paint department at The Home Depot. I have used Behr Ultra on numerous occasions and I love it! I hope you will enjoy it as well ![]()
Since you are going from a satin to an eggshell finish it wouldn't be a bad idea to apply a deglosser to the surface. This will take off the shine and make the paint adhere easier. Here is a picture:

After your done with the deglosser you can paint away.
Happy Painting!

Depending on what color you are going over / painting you really would not need to use Behr Ultra (paint and primer). How big is the room you are painting and what colors are you planning on doing? You could do a quick prime and then paint or use the sand deglosser as mentioned in the previous post. If you do the prime then paint I would use Gripper Primer, it is a thicker primer, but it is dry quick and works great. Then just go over it with just a regular paint. I have never used the sand deglosser so I am not sure how well it does. Hope this helps for you.
