I inherited a Hampton Bay ceiling fan, model AC-5540D. It runs great & quiet, but recently, the bulbs went out. When I opened the casing, I noticed that actually, one of the sockets had broken and the bulb fell out. The components in the apparent ceramic socket fell out with the bulb. I have to replace the entire fan, as i is working great. But I do want to replace the socket.
Does anyone know who I can contact? Is this repairable?

Hi David_K, I’m Ken with The Home Depot, and welcome to the community. Sorry to hear about your fan.
I can’t tell you if it’s repairable, however I can help get you going in the right direction for answers.
To get you help right away, you will need some information; you need to have the correct model number and UPC code.
You can locate these on a sticker on the top of the motor housing. You need these as there are several manufactures of Hampton Bay fans.
Once you have this information you can then place a phone call to the Hampton Bay Customer Service Team, and they can help you figure out if the socket is replaceable or repairable, and how to fix it.
If you need to order parts you can do that while you’re on the phone with them.
Here is the Hampton Bay Customer Service phone number. Hope this help.
Again thank you for joining the community and we look forward to helping you with your other projects.

Hello, I have a model 52-CA, UPC code 082392613754 Antique Hickory ceiling fan with light kit. The light popped the other day and when I got up in the light to find out what was wrong the light bulb had blown and arced and put a hole in the housing cover for the light. The wiring was completely burned up on that light so I checked the other light socket and it was burned up also. This was a definite fire hazard and it seems like the design of the light did not allow for any circulation to cool the lights. Or if the was some circulation it was not enough. I had two max 60 watt bulbs in the light sockets. I would like to see if there is another light kit that fits this fan. Thanks
