Hampton Bay w/ no Cords???

I just purchased my first home a week ago, and one of the bedrooms has a Hampton Bay ceiling fan.  The fan is hooked up to a light switch and operates normally.

The only strange thing is that the fan does not have ANY pull cords on it.  There aren't even holes for cords to go into it.  There are no buttons, switches, or anything like that.  I've searched the internet, and I cannot find any Hampton Bay model that matches what I've got.

So, my questions are....

1) Could this be a remote only fan?  How can I tell if it has the remote feature (the previous owner didn't leave any sort of remote).

2) Could this fan be a hardwire in only fan?  Does Hampton Bay make fans that ONLY have 1 setting (e.g.. lights and fan both on or off)?

3) Where can I find a model number on the fan?

The best that I can describe the fan is that it has a small flush mount housing, is a dark grey color.  The light kit has 4 lights without any glass and has more of an industrial feel to it.

Any info / help would be great.

Thanks

Re: Hampton Bay w/ no Cords???

Hi Dermochelys.  Thanks for your question.  Your fan is defiantly a remote controlled fan.  The previous owner probably lost the transmitter.  Home Depot sells replacement remote controls but the fan canopy must be dropped to install the receiver.  The UPC number is located on the top of the motor housing and with this number you can talk to customer care at 1-877-527-0313.  And lastly,  Hampton Bay only makes one hardwire only fan and it is for industrial use with no light kit.  It has 3 blades and must be mounted above 10ft.  I hope this helps.  Stukas

Re: Hampton Bay w/ no Cords???

I was able to find the UPC code on the fan (08239234556) and I called the help number.  They are sending me a replacement remote.  I was just wondering if there's a operations manual online that I could download.

Thanks

Re: Hampton Bay w/ no Cords???

Hello Dermochelys.  Welcome to the Community!

The first 6 digits of your UPC tell me that this Hampton Bay unit was made by King of Fans.  You have a Reddington II fan which is so old that there is no website downloadable manual.  However, all is not lost.  If you call Kingoffans at the number:  800-330-3267  They will provide you with the manual as an email attachment.
