Stop by your local Home Depot store this weekend for great hands-on workshops, clinics, and of course, our Fire Safety Day Kids Workshop!
Saturday Workshops and Clinics
9am–12pm Kids Workshop
Saturday, October 1st, starts off with our little DIYers building a Fire Rescue Helicopter. This FREE workshop is held at every store from 9am-12pm local time. Designed for children ages 5 – 12, this is an excellent opportunity to build quality family time and gain new skills. You can now paint and add embellishments to your project while at the workshop (contact your local store for more details). In addition to the newly constructed and painted project, each child will receive a kid-sized orange apron, an achievement pin, and a diploma.
Continue the DIY experience with our hands-on workshops. Every Saturday in October (October 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th) will feature Fire Safety and How to Install Crown Moulding workshops. There is a special countertop clinic held on October 1st.
10am-11am Fire Safety Workshop
You will learn how to find and remove fire hazards in your home as well as detect smoke, fire, or carbon monoxide; extinguish fires using a fire extinguisher; and learn how to use a fire escape plan and fire escape ladders.
1pm-2:30pm How to Install Crown Moulding
You will learn how to select the most appropriate moulding for your project. Learn how to accurately measure the room and plan your installation. Cut crown moulding with a compound miter saw and a coping saw, and then install and finish like a pro. You will be able to select the necessary tools and materials for your project.
2pm-3pm How to Buy A Countertop (This clinic will held on Saturday, October 1st ONLY)
At the completion of this clinic, you be able to apply simple design rules for your countertop purchase, compare features and benefits of the various countertop surfaces offered, and understand the process for purchasing your countertop at The Home Depot.
Every Sunday in October (October 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th) will feature the Martha Stewart Living: Simple Bath Updates workshop.
1pm-2:30pm Martha Stewart Living: Simple Bath Updates
You will learn how to plan a simple bath update using Martha Stewart Living coordinating products. Get practice in preparing the room for the updates by removing the old hardware and lighting, repairing the drywall, and painting. Learn how to safely install the replacement bathroom hardware, faucet, and light fixtures.
Happy Fire Safety Month and we will see you in the stores!
