I have a jetted tub and want to paint the metal jets and jet plates. They are a brass colored and metal. I want to paint them with the rustoleum oil rubbed bronze spray paint but don't know if I would have to prime them first and or add something to waterproof them after or if the paint is durable enough on its own? I also wanted to do the tub drain. Any sugestions?

The Universal spray paint from Rust-Oleum is the one that will act as a primer, will adhere the longest, and will not require a top clear coat to "waterproof".
The most important step to consider is in getting the surface prepared for the paint. Any soap film on the surface must be removed by cleaning with steel wool. If there is any rust present - then remove that as well with the steel wool.
Try removing the hardware if possible and run them though the dishwasher. Painting them will be a lot easier while they are removed. If this is not possible..Tape around and cover between with paper or plastic sheeting to prevent overspray from getting on the tub.
