Hello and thank you for joining our How-to Community.
Here's what you are going to need for a 10'x12' concrete slab;
Best way to make the pad it’s by using the 2x6 boards and the grade stakes.
You'd first want to assemble the boards together to make the frame, in your case you're going to need two 2x6x10' and two 2x6x12.
Once the frame is constructed you’d want to outline the perimeter of it and excavate about an 1 1/2" of the surface of the soil.
Next lower the frame down in to the excavated area and nail in grade stakes every 2’ or so on the one side of the frame. Secure the stakes to the frame using the 3” screws. If you want this pad to be leveled, set the level on the adjacent unsecured side and level the frame by securing the additional stakes on the opposite perpendicular side of the frame. Complete the two remaining sides after the frame is leveled.
Pour the concrete and screed the pad using the 2x4 board.
Once completed, immediately fill it with the wood float. Wait for the water to evaporate before attempting to smooth it or giving it a broom finish.
Hope this answers your question and please do not hesitate to post back with any additional questions you may have.
