It's great your going to be saving yourself a lot of time and even more money with your new TruGrass lawn.
I contacted the helpfull people at TurfEvolutions and the stakes/nails do not come with the TruGrass. They did let me know that the 40D(5 inch) nails that they recommend can be purchased from The Home Depot of course.

Trugrass is way beyond the astroturf of the past. This synthetic lawn actually looks just like real grass.
In the past astroturf looked like shredded green plastic. Well those days are over and TurfEvolutions has not only made a grass that has the colors and thickness types real grass has, but has found a way to create the thatch your used to seeing in lawns. Thatch is the old organic matter that is from the growing and mowing in all lawns. This is a closeup of thatch.

The maintenance of Truegrass is so minimal it's no wonder it's fast becomming a real alternative to grass lawn.

It's great that many people are doing something about saving money and doing upgrades to their homes at the same time. Besides choosing grass that is best for their location, many people are choosing a "synthetic" grass alternative.
The cost of a 15x20 (which is 300 sq ft), this can be answered at your local Home Depot. You have to take removal of the old lawn, installing the base, and other simple things into consideration.
As for being able to do this yourself? Of course you can. The top of this thread has a video explaining how to install Trugrass.
The cost of maintaining a lawn is ongoing if you take into consideration; watering, mowing, killing weeds, re-seeding, and fertilizing. Not to mention the time and effort that goes into a nice lawn.
The installation and cost of synthetic grass is actually less expensive than owning real grass and pays for itself quickly.
