Christine here with another duct tape craft! Today I’m going to show you how to make a wreath out of duct tape. This is a fun project and looks quite good when it is done, if I do say so myself.
Things you will need for this project:
- 2 rolls of duct tape (one being for the wreath, one for the bow)
- 1/2” foam pipe insulation
Step One: Cut your pipe insulation to 3 feet.
Step Two: Connect the ends of the insulation with a piece of duct tape.
Step Three: Cut a whole bunch of 2” pieces of duct tape in your desired wreath color. With each piece you will fold down one corner, leaving a sliver of stickiness and then fold over the other corner. You will need approximately 400 pieces of duct tape. Don’t give up; you will appreciate your awesomeness when you are done! Make sure each new row is below the row you are going over.
Step Four: Now that you have covered your insulation it’s time to make your bow. Cut two 12” and two 18” pieces of your bow color. Stick each pair together with a little bit of stickiness exposed. Fold down the exposed stickiness and trim the edges.
Step Five: Take your 18” piece and make it a circle, securing it with a small piece of duct tape. Take the circle and the 12” piece and squish them in the middle. At this point it should look like a bow. Tape the pieces together with a piece of duct tape.
Step Six: Attach your bow to your wreath!
There it is! You now have the power to make your very own duct tape wreath! Go forth with this knowledge and bask in your awesomeness.
